The Planters of the south were from southern atlantic states that included cherokee, choctaw, seminole, powhatan, and creek and europeans were first introduced to north america and its strange foods. They were welcomed with a feast of broiled fresh fish, custard apples, baked yams, a bread f cassavas, succulent , and sweet guavas. When spanish adventures arrived they found lots of see food.  They also found coastal water teaming with flounder and whitfish and drum. So the planter of the south had all the food they needed and they also had the drinks that they needed to survive.
