This page contains information about the Plains Indians, who are members of the Siouan tribes. They hunted the buffalo, turning them into food, shelter, and clothing. While tracking these buffalo they moved their homes and possesions with them on dog pulled travois. They were a migrating tribes, unlike those of the Missouri and Mississippi River valeys. Here tribes like the Osage, Mandan, kiowa, and many others led there lives based on farm land and what crops they could grow.
